Hello! I'm Chris Blunden, a web developer based in Bristol, UK. Over the past ten years I have worked on a diverse range of projects, often for internationally recognised brands. I have worked in an agency environment to develop beautiful front end experiences for Marriott Hotels, Universal Pictures, Working Title Films and others.

I have also worked in a full stack capacity, using my PHP/Laravel and software architecture knowledge to provide solutions for Waterstones.com and others.

In recent years I have used this experience to bring a fresh perspective to technology companies in the financial services sector. I use my PHP, Javascript, VueJS, Agile and responsive web development knowledge to help teams learn, grow and deliver high quality software.

I am also a co-organiser of PHP Southwest, a monthly event uniting PHP developers in Bristol of all levels.

Services

Full stack web development

I have worked on many full stack web development projects, guiding them from inception to completion, either individually or as part of a team. I can advise on suitable software architecture and design patterns, and I have a passion for Domain Driven Design, SOLID and Object-Oriented Principles.

Backend development

Back-office systems and APIs are the heart of any business. I have created a number of backend API-driven services using formats such as RESTful APIs and GraphQL. My main technologies are PHP, Laravel, MySQL/NoSQL, Docker, Nginx etc.

Frontend development

The UI of your application is the lens through which customers view your product, so implementing it correctly is essential. I have worked on many frontend-driven projects, either working on new interfaces from scratch or advising on how to improve existing User Interfaces to increase customer satisfaction and decrease customer support requests. My main technologies are VueJS, Javascript, CSS3, HTML5 etc.

Agile consultancy

The way your software team operates is a system in itself; designing it and organising it for efficiency requires careful thought. I have worked on multiple agile teams in various capacities including as a Scrum Master, responsible for overseeing the smooth completion of tickets and working of the wider team.
